Billie Bradford Lewter, 86, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Town Creek, Alabama.
Ms. Lewter was born in Lawrence County, Alabama to Sallie Norton Bradford and Claude Bradford. She graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1948. She was married to Charles Lewter and had one son. Billie worked at Keys Grocery, Woolworths, and South Central Bell, which she retired from after 33 years. After retirement, she worked for Charter Retreat Hospital for 12 more years. She is predeceased by her parents and only child, Ronald Lewter. Billie leaves behind two grandchildren, Michelle Lewter Eppard, married to Chris Eppard, Michael Lewter, and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Serenity Eppard.
Viewing to be held Monday, September 19th, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with service to follow at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home at 711 Memorial Drive SW, Decatur, Alabama.
