George Edwin Gray – Obituary

georgeGeorge Edwin Gray, 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in our chapel, with burial to follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Brother Mark Mayfield.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Perron and Myrtle Montgomery Gray.

Survivors are his wife of 66 wonderful years, Marie Gray; sons, Bobby Gene Gray (Martha) and Douglas Edwin Gray (Julia); daughter, Monica Gray Beams (Michael); brothers, Wayne “Buddy” Gray (Paulette) and James “Jim” Gray; sister, Jean Gray Reynolds; grandchildren, Josh Gray (Tonya), Trinity Roy (Bradley), Jessica Crowden (Keith), Maria Scott (Stefan), Corey Burcham (Julie), Hannah Bostic (Michael), Justin Beams, and Jessica Davis (Larry); 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Josh Gray, Keith Crowden, Bradley Roy, Corey Burcham, and Justin Beams.

George was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He was a faithful member of Leighton Baptist Church. He retired from Ford after 25 years of loyal service and then worked for Saginaw ten years as a tool and die maker.
