Kenneth Hammond, 82, of Rogersville passed away Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at ECM Hospital. He was a member of Laborers Local #366, Sheffield, AL. and a farmer. As owner of Hammond Flea Market, Mr. Hammond would plant a large, giveaway garden every year. He was a very giving landlord to many of his tenants.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 from 12 – 3 at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel with Windell Gann & Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hammond, Jasper Hammond, Spencer Sartain, Slade Sartain, Jason McKelvey, Kenny McKelvey; honorary, Larry Weathers.
Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Irene Hammond; sister, Doris Arnold. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gerlean Hammond; children, Linda (Ron) Whitehurst, Wendell (Amy) Hammond, Nancy (Patrick) Sartain and Kaye Hammond; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Edgar (Jimmie) Hammond; sister, Betty (Rayburn) Scott; sister-in-law, Christine Blankenship; special caregiver, Diane Mosley; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
