James “Jimmy” Floyd Smith, 67, Mt. Hope passed from this life Saturday, August 27, 2016 at ECM Hospital.

Mr. Smith lived his entire life in Mt. Hope, Alabama and was a member of Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mt. Hope. He was retired from Solutia where he was a lab tech for over 33 years.

Funeral service will be Tuesday August 30, 2016, 2 p.m. at Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mt. Hope with Rev. Deb Williams, Bro. Jonathan Henderson and Bro. Jesse Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 p.m. until service time.

Survivors include, wife, Janie Ruth Seay Smith, Mt. Hope; children, Michelle Smith Daniel and husband, Brett, Mt. Hope; James Christopher Smith and wife, Melanie, McCalla, Alabama; grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth Daniel, Auburn; Lauren Ashley Daniel, Mt. Hope; Olivia Leah-Kate Charlene Smith, McCalla, Alabama; brother, DeWayne “Buddy” Smith and wife, Linda, Moulton; mother-in-law, Arlenia Seay; sisters, Pam Campbell and husband, Bobby, Mt. Hope, Angie Smith, Mt. Hope.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Honorary bearers will be retired friends from Solutia.

He was preceded in death by parents, Gilbert and Alma Smith.
