glennGlenn Ross Smith, 74, of Decatur, passed away on August 25, 2016.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1942 in Decatur, Alabama. Glenn was a member of Tunsel Road Baptist Church. He graduated from Tanner High School in 1960. Known to some as “Scrapper”, he was an avid Auburn fan and was a jokester that enjoyed playing practical jokes. Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everybody.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. at Tunsel Road Baptist Church in Hartselle, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Wally Bryant and Brother Ralph Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Priceville.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brannon Smith; daughters, Glenda (Wally) Bryant, Katrina (Billy) Little, and Montez Brown; stepchildren, Sherry (Johnny) Porter, Paula (Eddie) Johnson and Cindy Brannon; son-in-law, Shane Maxwell; brothers, Gerald (Pat) Smith and Doug (Felita) Smith; sister Earline Clay; and sister-in-law, Diane Smith. He was Paw Paw to eight grandchildren, Erica (Joel) Wallace, Heather Little, Haley Little, Taylor Maxwell, Allie Ledbetter, Maddie Bryant, Noah Maxwell and Isabella Brown; five stepgrandchildren, Brooke Porter, Holly (Dallas) Thompson, Lance Blackwood, Drew (Megan) Johnson, and Emily Porter; one great-grandchild, Aubreonna Parker; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Taylor, Blateney, Ellie, Mattie, Cole, Aubree, Conner and Drake.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Kelley Smith; parents, Jack and Veola Smith; son, Brian Smith; daughter, Tracey Maxwell; brother, Charles Smith; and sister, Barbara Ann Nelson.
