Mr. David Harvey Klyce, 73, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 3, 1943, in Memphis, TN to David Harvey Klyce, Jr. and Mary Fisher Jennett. Upon graduating high school, he attended Memphis State University. He met the love of his life, Doris Simerson and they were married October 2, 1965. He was a wonderful, loving husband and completely devoted to his wife and two girls. He leaves behind his faithful companion, Gypsy, his beloved little pup.
David chose sales as his profession, due to his love for meeting and being with people. He was a very successful sales representative, employed many years by American and Efird Corporation. David was a member of #318 Blue Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason. He never met a stranger and made friends easily and had a fun loving personality. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing golf.
A celebration of David’s life and Masonic service will be at 12 PM, noon, Saturday, August 27, 2016, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Will Rambo officiating. Private burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 AM to service time.
Survivors include his wife of almost 51 years, Doris Klyce of Tupelo; two daughters, Mary Katherine “Katie” McCustion and husband, John of Tupelo, and Melissa Anne Klyce of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Ian Simerson McCustion and Harper Claire McCustion of Tupelo; one brother, Michael Joseph Edwards and wife, Ann of Clyde, S.C., and sister, Martha Ann Jennett of Memphis, TN, and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney “Spike” Rice, Johnny Jarrell, Don Creasy, Wilson Knight, and Sam Welch.
