Funeral service for Rev. Jack Paul Joyner, 84, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at Good Hope Baptist Church, Dr. Ralph Andrews officiating with interment in Holly Pond Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10-11 a.m.

Rev. Joyner passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 2, 1932 to Milton Ulysses & Lonnie May Collum Joyner. He got his undergraduate degrees at University of South Carolina; then obtained two master’s degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of Vernant Park Baptist Church, Foley, Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Greenville, Antioch Baptist Church, Lafayette. He was the Associational Missionary in Butler and Wilcox Counties and retired after serving 22 years as Director of Missions in East Cullman Baptist Association. He served as president of State of Alabama Director’s of Missions; participated in numerous mission work trips, loved God more than life and influenced many people’s lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Mana Darden Joyner; daughter, Angela Joyner; brother, Milford Joyner; sister, Doris Jeffcoat.

Survivors include sons, Stephen R. (Stefanie) Joyner, Tim Sumrall; daughter, Paula (Deane) Sweet; grandchildren, Brittany Rae Joyner, Kendall Joyner; nephews, Joey Kellum, Dr. Robert Jeffcoat, Mark Jeffcoat, Jon Jeffcoat, David Jeffcoat; sisters-in-law, Ann Kellum, Eloise Duckworth, Beatrice Duckworth, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m.
