Gaye Grimes, 91, of Iuka, MS, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at her residence. She was the oldest living member of South Crossroads Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, bird watching, fishing, and talking on the phone. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Friday, August 19 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at South Crossroads Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for 2 hours prior to service time. It will be officiated by Bro. Keith Lovelace and Bro. Mike Neighbors. Interment will follow in South Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers include Brian Glover, Chris Grimes, John Moore, Barney Dick, Matthew Russell, and Robin Lovelace. Honorary bearers will be Charles Gist, Donald Martin, Kim Grimes, and Matthew Grimes. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by 1 son – Steve Grimes (Shirley) of Iuka; 1 daughter – Carolyn Wilemon (Jerry) of Burnsville; 1 brother – J.C. Floyd of Memphis, TN; 4 grandchildren – Jeffrey Wilemon, Sandra Moore, Carrie Grimes, and Perry Grimes; 4 great grandchildren – Charles Gist, Samantha Grimes, Cora Glover, and Jerrod Wilemon; and 2 great grandchildren, Cason Clark and Aubrey Gist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Grimes; her parents, Richard Perry and Carrie Durham Floyd; her son, Phillip Grimes; her great grandson, David Gist; and several brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Crossroads Cemetery Fund.
