Harvard Elton Romine – Obituary

Harvard Elton Romine, 86, died Monday at his residence. Mr. Romine was born March 14, 1930, in Lauderdale County. He was a member of Cedar Grove Church of Christ and retired from Flanagan Lumber Company. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Grove Church of Christ. He will lie-in-state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Naaman Goode, Paul Sain, Randy Baker, and Adam Jones are officiating. Burial is in Higgins Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home, Athens. Survivors are children, Elton Romine and wife, Debbie, of Rogersville, Brenda Graham and husband, Vendee, of Birmingham, and David Romine and wife, Jo Ann, of Rogersville; grandchildren, Sonya Marks, Anderson, Carla Jones, Concord, North Carolina, Jeremy Graham, Alabaster, Joel Romine, Rogersville, Harvard Lee Graham, Auburn, Brad Romine, Rogersville, Justin Romine, Athens, and Melia Romine, Rogersville; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Irene Romine; wife, Marie Romine; brothers, Walter Romine, Clifton Romine, Joe Romine Jr, and Rolin Romine; and sister, Oscie Waddell.

Pallbearers will be Heath Marks, Joel Romine, Brad Romine, Justin Romine, Jeremy Graham, and Harvard Lee Graham. Great-grandsons are serving as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
