dennisDennis Wayne Stults, 73, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Dennis was surrounded by all of his family and many friends at the time he was called home to be with God.

Born Oct. 8, 1942, in Florence, Alabama to Gentry and Jeanette Stults, he moved to Winter Haven in 1955. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Winter Haven where he was a song leader for over 50 years and served as a deacon. He was a devoted and loyal husband and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a great example to his family and many friends. While he will be greatly missed, his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.

Dennis graduated from Winter Haven High School, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Southern College and went on to get his Master’s of Science in Management degree from Rollins College. Dennis was the president of Sweets Inc., past president of the former Scotty’s having worked there for 28 years, recognized with the Distinguished Business Achievement Alumni Award from Florida Southern College, and was admitted to the Rollins College Graduate School of Business Alumni Hall of Fame, past chapter chairman of the American Red Cross, and past chairman of Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School, Mt. Dora, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia; his mother, Jeanette Stults, of Winter Haven; his children, Wayne Stults and his wife, Julie, of Winter Haven, Deron Stults and his wife, Jill, of Winter Haven, Jennifer Davis and her husband, Terry, of Winter Haven, and Daniel Stults and his wife, Jessica, of Nolensville, Tennessee; a sister, Debbie King and her husband, Bruce, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven followed at 11 a.m. with a celebration of his life at the Central Church of Christ in Winter Haven.
