Janie Elizabeth Campbell Kelly – Obituary

Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Campbell Kelly, 73, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Sanctuary Hospice House following an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1943 in Lee Col, MS to Leroy Campbell and Lossie Hampton Campbell. Janie’s profession was cosmetology, but she spent all of her life as a caregiver to her family. She had a heart of gold, always caring for others before herself. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed cooking for them. Her great joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janie enjoyed going to yard-sales, fishing, and midnight shopping.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 AM, Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Kerry Nelson and her son in law, Bro. Marty Browning officiating. Private burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery at Sherman. Visitation will be today (Wed., Aug 4, 2016) from 5 PM to 7 PM and Friday from 10 AM to service time.

Survivors include her two daughters, Patty Browning (Marty) of Pontotoc and Dorie Crouch (Ronald) of Myrtle; three brothers, Bobby Campbell of Sherman, Jimmy Campbell of Alpine, and Carl Campbell (Inez) of Chesterville; one sister, Geneva Adair (Stanford) of Sherman; brother-in-law, Steve Kelly of Tupelo and sisters-in-law, Shirley Turner and Pat Barber (John), all of Tupelo; grandchildren, Lauren Crouch (Josh Thompson), Hannah Browning, Kelly Byrd (Brandon), Daniel Browning (Lacie), Keeley McCord (Eric), Bradley Shettles, and Ashley Shettles; great-grandchildren, Gabbie, Hayden, Parker, Ben, and Asher. She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Ben Kelly who died March 8, 2007; daughter, Lesa Kelly; mother and father-in-law, Louise and Woodrow Kelly; nephew, Billy Adair; niece, Melanie Sellers; two sisters-in-law, Marie Campbell and Shirley Kelly; one brother-in-law, Joe Turner.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Browning, Josh Thompson, Brandon Byrd, Bradley Shettles, Eric McCord, and Rick Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Jimmy Campbell, Carl Campbell, and Bobby Campbell, and Steve Kelly and Stanford Adair.
