DECATUR-Decatur Police responded to a stabbing call in the early morning of Wednesday, August 3. The Decatur Police Department released a statement regarding the incident:
“On August 3, 2016 at approximately 3:03 am, Officers with the Decatur City Police Department responded to 1010 16th Ave SE, in reference to a stabbing call. Upon arrival on scene officers made contact with a male subject identified as Benny James Bozeman, laying in the alleyway directly behind the building. Bozeman was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back and sides. Due to his injuries Bozeman was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Det. Mike Burleson and Det. Montrez Payton with the Decatur Police Departments Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. During the course of the investigation Mary Malone, Alishia Miland, and Nicholas Williams were developed as suspects.
All three suspects were transported to Decatur City Jail and charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree. They will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail and their bonds have not been set.
Assault in the 2nd Degree is a Class C Felony”
