Geraldine “Geri” Marie Shady, 80, passed away peacefully at her family home on August 1st in Huntsville, AL. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 10, 1936, she was the youngest daughter to the late Bernard and Clara Woronka. Geri married Joseph Shady Jr in 1964 and remained lovingly married until her passing. Geri was a faithful member of the local Catholic parish and raised her children in the Catholic faith. Geri is preceded in death by her sister Ann and her brothers Raymond, Joseph, and Edwin. Surviving are her husband Joseph, Huntsville; three childrenDaniel Shady, Huntsville; Joel Shady, Huntsville; and Christine Hayes, Huntsville; two grandsons- Jeffrey and Stephen Shady; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and brothers, Thomas, Scanton, PA; and Anthony, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m.at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville with a Catholic Mass held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Jude Children’s Hospital.
