Kenneth Gayhart – Obituary

Kenneth Gayhart, 86, of Decatur, died July 20, 2016. A gathering of friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Roselawn Funeral Home. The celebration of his life will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Historical Somerville Cemetery. Bro. Robert Newman and Bro. Tommy Smuthers will be officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Gayhart; sons, Ricky Sullivan (Susan), Jerry Gayhart (Lois); daughters, Deborah Wooliver (Michael), Denise Benkovich; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Reva VanHoose and Rena Miller; one brother who remains Missing In Action since the Korean War, James Dana Gayhart.

Mr. Gayhart served his country during the Korean War in the Army, loved gardening, and was admired for his ability to raise the most amazing tomatoes. Being from Kentucky, he was a big UK basketball fan. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
