Georgia Lou Harrison, 90, of Athens, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Limestone Health Facility. Georgia Lou was born Nov. 10, 1925 to George and Connie Vinson. Georgia Lou was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and an outstanding cook. Georgia Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie F. Harrison; grandson, Adam Harrison; and son-in-law, Alvin Smith.
Survivors are one daughter, Sandy Smith (friend, Ed Newkirk); one son, Stanley Harrison (Sherry); two granddaughters, Lisa Rose (Mitch) and Lori Green (Mike); one grandson, Blake Harrison; two great-granddaughters, Summer Rose and Chelsea Green; four great-grandsons, Dusty Rose (Brandi), Codey Rose, Jordan Rose and Tyler Green; four great-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Macy, Benton and Millie; one sister, Elizabeth Harrison; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Spry Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Arvid McGuire and Jerry Smith officiating. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitch Rose, Mike Green, Dusty Rose, Codey Rose, Jordan Rose, Tyler Green and Jim Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Harrison, Summer Rose and Chelsea Green.
