Johnnie Martin Mitchell, 78 of Somerville, Alabama the Union Hill Community of Morgan County, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Mitchell was born December 24, 1937 in Morgan County, Alabama to John Kelly Mitchell and Emma Lucile Britain Mitchell. He worked at the Redstone Arsenal as a custodian.
He was a member of Rescue United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his sister Ruby E. Smith; nephews: Edwin Smith, Connor Smith, Austin Smith and Richard Poe; nieces: Kristy Smith, Bessie Smith and Karen Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents: John Kelly and Emma Lucile Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Austin Smith, Richard Poe, Tommy Mathis, Bucky Rowe and Gene Brown.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 22, 2016 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with brothers Jared Andrews and Eldridge Criscoe, officiating. Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 21, 2016 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
