rickyRicky Dale Dickerson, 61, of Florence passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jeff Wade, Tommy Heaps and Tony Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan United Methodist Cemetery.

Ricky was a native of Lauderdale County and was a brick mason for Haddock’s Masonry and worked for the City of Florence Street Department for the past 10 years. He was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church, Waterloo Bass Anglers, Alabama Masters Federation State Team and West Lauderdale Bass Masters.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet Bird Dickerson; father, Marion Dickerson; mother, Willie T. Clemmons Beavers; and sisters, Linda Vanderford and Margie Webb.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Ashley Gibson (Jay); three special grandchildren, Braxton Wright (Alyssa), Chandler Gibson and Kynidi Gibson; girlfriend, Rhonda Barnett; brothers, Ronnie Dickerson (Linda) and Barry Dickerson (Patsy); sisters, Brenda Folden (John) and Nancy Dickerson; a special companion, Maggie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Bobby Mansell, Gerald Smith, Ricky Haggard, Kenny Irons, Eric Boyd, Marcus Hughes, Steve Woods and Wayne Landers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Gilbert, Jimmy Morris, Bensil Greenhill, Daryl Haddock, Tom Haddock, Dave Lee, Clint Folsom, Fred Shields, Mike Palmer, Tony Hubbard, Danny Wylie, and the City of Florence Street Department.
