Betty Jean Stewart, age 74, of Arab Alabama, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

She was born on July 10, 1941 in Marshall County Alabama to Glenn Stewart and Edna Swords Stewart. Jean was a lifelong resident of the Arab area and worked as a sewing machine operator for Blue Bell/Wrangler/Rayvex until her retirement. She enjoyed reclining and reading.
Jean was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by five brothers and sisters in law: James Stewart and Fay, Charles “Bo” Stewart and Carrie, Rick Stewart and Roxanne, Larry Stewart and Connie, Tommy Stewart and Nancy, Joy Stewart; two sisters and one brother in law: Linda Chambers, Peggy Glass and Max; a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Glenn and Edna Stewart, a brother W.O. Stewart and a brother in law: James Chambers.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 28, 2016 at New Friendship Baptist Church with Brother Jerald Adams and Brother Buddy Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Stewart, Stephen Glass, Chris Stewart, Milton Eubanks, Jordan Stewart, Preston Hardin, Carl Goss and David Sims.
Visitation will be at New Friendship Baptist Church 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday June, 27, 2016.
