Bessie Smallwood, 87, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 in her home in Tuscumbia, AL. Visitation will be Monday, June 27th from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with David Conley officiating. Burial will be at Guy Cemetery.
Bessie was preceded in death by her late husband, Herbert Smallwood. She was a member of Chapel Hill Church of Christ.
Bessie is survived by her 4 children: Joyce Lee (James), Gary Smallwood (Cheryl), Evon Zills (Harry), and Beverly Smallwood (Phillip); 8 grandchildren: Bethany Smallwood Darnell, Mandy Zills Tolbert, Adam Smallwood, Shannon Zills Reed, Courtney Cosby Daniel, Jordan Smallwood Elkins, Joshua Grigsby, Jonathan Grigsby, Earl Lee, Randy Lee, and (late) Angela Lovelady; 9 great-grandchildren, Christian Darnell, Katelyn Darnell, Chloey Tolbert, Gracie Tolbert, Hallē Tolbert, Claire Daniel, Cohen Daniel, McClain Reed, and Harrison Reed.
