Mrs. Dorothy Garner, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June, 20, 2016. Born May 11, 1921 to Ben and Rene Morrison. She was a member of the Laager Independent Methodist Church where she was formerly active in the nursing home ministery of the Church.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Herbert Garner; son, Cecil and Don Garner; grandson, Lindley Garner.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Pettit, Tunnell Hill, GA, Deborah Smith, Gruetli-Laager, TN and Angela (Randall) Brown, Dalton, GA; son, Steve Garner, Palmer, TN; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; many great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister John Potts officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 AM until time of service Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
