Sue Barker Calloway – Obituary

Sue Barker Calloway was born July 21, 1932, in Walker County, AL (Townley), the daughter of Tab and Ruby Windham. She passed away June 19, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following at 7:00 PM. Levi Sides and Kyle Gilpin will be officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tab and Ruby Windham, her husbands, Othel Barker and J.C. Calloway, her brother L.O. Windham and sisters Beatrice Waid, Shirley Barker, Gaye Speegle and Faye Speegle, granddaughter-in-law, Tina Alexander, a great grandson, Duston Blake Barker, and a great granddaughter, Bailee Brooke Alexander.

She is survived by her son, Don Barker (Myra) of Jasper, daughters, Kathy Alexander (Johnny) and Karen Gillott (James), both of Nauvoo, step daughter, Amy Calloway Hester (Tim) of Crossville, TN, 9 grandchildren-Bridgett Duncan (Clark), Beth Gillott, Cody Gillott (Kaylee), Dawn Hartley (Ralph), Misty Taylor, Stacy Terry, Terry Barker (Misty), Chuck Alexander (Farrah) and Shane Alexander, 1 step grandchild, Betty Hester, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also, Sue is survived her brothers-Larry Windham (Jan) and Gary Windham both of Jasper, and her sister-Glenda Odom (Freddie) of Nauvoo, and a special niece, Susie Diliberto.

Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her Lord, her family, her church family and her friends. She was happiest when she was outside working in her flowers and sharing them with others. She was a long-time member of Crossroads Church of Christ and had a strong faith and influence that could be seen in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will truly be missed.
