Jennie Hammond Kay Towry, 96, years old, formerly of Toney, Alabama passed away on June 17, 2016 at Windsor House Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Towry is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Willie C. Towry, parents, Weaver Kay and Notie Bell Butler Kay, brothers; Henry Kay, Melvin Kay, Lloyd Kay, sister; Allie Mary Kay Batt, son in laws; Howard Simmons, and Randy Ready. She is survived by children; Johnnie Kay Ready, Reva Simmons, Dickey (Eloise) Towry, Ted (Darry) Towry, grandchildren; Tonya Simmons, Tina (Alan) Johnson, Burton (Dana) Towry, Jana (J.D.) Patterson, Ted E. “Chip” (Caitlin) Towry II, Tracy (Tony) Taylor, Steve (Donna) Haraway, Stacy (Kris) Haraway, Shawn(Kim) Haraway, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Towry was a faithful member of the Friendship Church of Christ until she entered an assisted living facility. She and her late husband owned and operated Towry and Sons grocery on highway 53 and the other on Pulaski Pike. She loved her family and preapring meals for them. Anytime there was a family gathering there was food, lots of food. Favorites were sausage balls and Chocolate Delight Pie. Visitation will be on Monday June 20. from 11:00 until 2:00 at Berryhill with a 2:00 p.m. Chapel service with Bro. Billy Robison officating. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s association. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisitng.
