Evon Pike, 71, of Hartselle, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Pike was an U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was market manager for Food World for over 30 years and was also a cattle farmer. He was the best husband, dad and grandfather anyone could have asked for.
Mr. Pike was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Delores Johnson Pike; siblings, Dorothy Pike, Imogene Varnell, Montie Pike, Irene Milam, Millie Crow, Mack Pike, and Billy B. Pike.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Carolyn Pike; son, Chris Pike (Laura );daughter, Angela Pike McMinemon (Jeff); five grandchildren, Ella Pike, Eli Pike, Julya McMinemon, Alyssa McMinemon, and Lucas McMinemon; two sisters, Alice Norwood Dobbs (Glen) and Geraldine Cloer (Hoyt); also several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside service will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Smith and Pastor Milan Dekich officiating. Following the graveside the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Risen Church (formerly Hartselle 1st Church of God located at 1038 Main St. West). A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
