cooperCooper Lee Hodges, age 4, of Killen, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

To know Cooper was to truly love Cooper. His beautiful smile, happy spirit, and loving heart touched everyone around him. Cooper loved life. He loved his friends and he loved to run and play. He loved fire trucks, police cars and trains. He always had a tool in his hands ready to help his daddy work on his jeep, and he loved helping his momma make pancakes every morning. He loved his big brother, his “Bubba”. He loved watching him play “B-ball” and always wanted a pair of Nike shoes just like him.

From the beginning of his battle with cancer, Cooper was given the name “Super Cooper”. With every step of his journey, he accomplished things that were not supposed to be possible. He never lost his happy spirit or his will to fight and was always quick to give you the “I love you” sign and a “thumbs up”. To everyone whose life was touched by this happy and brave little warrior, Cooper was and always will be a real super hero.

When we see a fire truck, a police car, a choo-choo train or an airplane flying in the sky, when we eat a cheeseburger or a chocolate sprinkle doughnut, we will remember our Cooper and the great joy he brought us. And every memory will be “happy, happy, happy”.

Cooper is survived by his parents, Johnathon and Lauren Hodges; brother, Paden Hodges; grandparents, David and Cathie Hope and Michelle Jones; and many loving family members.

A celebration of Cooper’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence. Rev. Jerry Rea and Bro. Chad Hess will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-2pm in the sanctuary with the service to follow at 2 p.m. A private burial at Greenview Memorial Park will be held immediately after the service.

Pallbearers will be Paden Hodges, Tom Anderson, Jarod Grimes, Casey Hardy, Russell Melton, Grant Nickell and Tommy Rippey.

Additional pallbearers will be Mark Maxwell, Michael Alsobrooks, Paul Maxwell, Bill Shrader, Jeremy Doyle, Ken Hanback, Paul Smoke, Don Matthews, Shane Hodges, Bill Howard, Will Claytor, Sabian Russel, Austin McGee and Robby Potter.

Honarary pallbearers will be all of Cooper’s very best little buddies that he loved dearly.

Donations can be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in loving memory of our sweet Cooper.
