This special concert will open with a riveting performance by Wildcat Ridge of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee followed by the feature performance by bluegrass band BoomTown.  BoomTown is an award-winning, regionally renowned group whose members have been a part of the bluegrass scene for decades. Their sound includes a mix boomof traditional and progressive bluegrass styles that have won competitions such as the 2015 Loretta Lynn Pickin’ Jamboree.  Prior to forming BoomTown, group members have played with bands and artists such as Josh Graves, Farmhand Quartet, Canaan’s Crossing, Barefoot Nellie and Company and Clear Creek.

“Fans are invited to come immerse themselves in the ‘tangy-jangly’ string band culture of the country’s most popular root music called bluegrass,”said Dixie Griffin.  “This style of music has been around since the late 30’s.”  Bluegrass has endeared itself on concepts of purity, straight-forwardness, and honesty.  The music theme emphasizes hard work, family, nostalgia, regret, and grim prospects. “Spread the word, bring a friend, and experience the genre of Bluegrass music,” said Griffin.

The concert will be held in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame lobby, and start at4:00 p.m., with a second performance at 7:30 for extra capacity.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to each show. Tickets are $15.00 and can be bought via Ticketleap at Amhof.ticketleap.com/boomtown or at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
