Cheryl D. McCorkle, age 56, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 13, 2016. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 16, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Valley Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Greg Beasley will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Cheryl was a native of Sheffield. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. She was the administrative director at Wellington Assisted Living, and was a member of the Alabama Assisted Living Association. Cheryl devoted her life to the care of the elderly.
Preceding Cheryl in death was her father, Rev. Lawrence Musgrove. Survivors include her husband, Frank McCorkle; mother, Elise Musgrove; children, Christi Dixon (Shaun), Kelli Hodges (Jason), and Brandon McCorkle; brother, Greg Musgrove; sister, Diane Goodwin; and one grandchild, Makynna.
Pallbearers will be Doug Myhan, Mark Holderfield, Brandon Pitt, Chris Parker, Jim Balch, and Doug Bumpas.

Cheryl will be greatly missed due to her selfless love to her family and community.

I worked with Cheryl on community projects and my father was at Morningside for several years. Cheryl was a dedicated worker, a fine person and a pleasure to work with. The Shoals lost a good leader.
