Tommy Ray Young, 72, of Killen, AL, passed away May 11, 2016, after an extended illness. Mr. Young was a butcher, the former owner of Country Market, and was retired from Winn Dixie. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shiner’s Temple.
Mr. Young is survived by wife Joyce Burks Young; daughters Belinda Young Carter of Killen, Kristie Young Leadford and husband Shannon of Florence, AL, and BJ Young Staggs and husband Greg of Lexington, AL; and grandchildren Victoria Leadford and Andrew Staggs. He was preceded in death by parents Marvin Turner Young and Velma Ruth Campbell Young and his brother Billy Young.
Visitation for Mr. Young will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with JR Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Leadford, Greg Staggs, Jamie Burks, Todd Hess, Marshall Young, and Joey Hess.
