Dorothy Green Slusher, age 93, entered into Heaven on May 12, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, from 10am until noon at Greenview Funeral Home with funeral service immediately following. The Reverend Buddy Peake, cousin of the deceased, will officiate.
Mrs. Slusher was born in Albertville, AL, on June 08, 1922, to Hal and Beatrice Green. She married Golden B. Slusher in January, 1946. Mrs. Slusher, known as Dot, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leslie Green and T.W. Green, sister, Halene Greene, and Golden, her husband of 58 years. She is survived by sons Rodney Slusher and wife Pat of Florence, and Alan Slusher and wife Rita of Orlando, FL, and sister Bebe Denham, Franklin, TN. Also survived by grandchildren Britton Slusher (Tacha), Mt. Airy, MD, Emily Mamaril (Richie), Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Philip Slusher, Charleston, SC, Laura Updike (Bobby), Florence, Marcus Slusher (fiance’ April Luttrell), Ashville, NC, Will King (Carrie), Sheffield, and Leah Hollingsworth (Kendall), Florence. Great grandchildren include Kayla Slusher, Abigail Updike, Emma Updike, Dottie Updike, Goldyn Mamaril, and Porter & Noah Hollingsworth. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Robert Mann, and caregivers Brenda Spires, Betty Hinton, Barbara Corbett and Alice Carter.
