Henry Thomas Martin, age 77, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016. “Tommy” was born in Birmingham and then made “The Shoals” his home until his death.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the service following in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., with Nick McSpadden officiating. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Annabelle Martin, of Birmingham, and son, Henry Clay Martin.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Sheila Vandiver Martin; son, John Martin, of Birmingham; and daughter, Dawn Martin, of Muscle Shoals.
He was a prominent businessman in both the Birmingham and Shoals area.
Tommy enjoyed sharing life with family and friends. He enjoyed boating and sports activities.
The family would like to express special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their love and care during this time.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
