Jeanette Loden Walton died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Hermitage, TN. She was born February 3, 1931, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Ebb and Pauline Loden. She retired from the Lebanon (Tennessee) City Schools where she served as Director of Librarians. Activities she concerned herself with were reading, bird watching, gardening, growing flowers, conservation of natural resources, and recycling. In-depth Bible study, Women on Missions, teaching Sunday school, and genealogy were her primary interests. Her life’s goal was to live each day as if it made a difference that Jesus died for our sins. She expressed this goal to others in her graciousness and loving spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Walton, and sons Joey and Jason Walton, all of Hermitage, TN; her sister, Linda Prestage Holcomb (Don) of Fulton; her brother, Jerry Loden of Philadelphia, MS; her brother-in-law, James Wood of Saltillo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ebb Lee Loden (Agnes); one sister, Joanne Wood; and a sister-in-law, Mary Loden.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie with the Rev. Glyn Wiygul and Joe Walton conducting the service. The family will receive visitors from noon until service time at the funeral home.
