Edythe Virginia Oleham – Obituary

Edythe Virginia Oleham, 93, originally from Colbert County,

Alabama, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Huntsville, Alabama. She

received her BS degree in Education from UNA at age 49, and retired from

teaching in the Jackson County Elementary School System at age 67.

Ms. Oleham was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in

Florence, Alabama where she taught Sunday school and ladies Bible Study.

She also enjoyed knitting, traveling, checking on friends by phone and

volunteering in schools.

Her parents Thomas and Katie Moore Oleham preceded Ms. Oleham in

death, along with her brothers Virgil, George, John and Marshall, as well as

her nephew, Tony Oleham.

Her nieces Susan K. Jeffreys and Marie Davis, as well as her nephews,

David and Jerry Oleham, survive Ms. Oleham. There are also 5 great

nieces, 2 great nephews, and a great grandnephew and niece.

Ms. Oleham’s service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian

Church located at 13575 County Line Road, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661, on

Saturday April 30th. Visit with the family at 1:00; the service begins at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the Cumberland Presbyterian

Children’s Home, Drawer G. Denton, TX 76202 or to First Cumberland

Presbyterian Church, 2422 Darby Dr. Florence, AL 35630. Elkins Funeral Home,

Florence is assisting the family.
