HARTSELLE-ALEA (Alabama Law Enforcement Agency) released a statement on the accident that occurred between an auto a go kart in Hartselle:
“A two-vehicle crash at 10:54 p.m. Saturday, April 22, claimed the life of two Hartselle teens. Brianna Lashay Lewis and Breanna Caitlin Jackson, both 15, were killed when the motorized go-kart they were riding collided with a 2005 Acura RSX driven by Matthew Ryan Hood of Huntsville.
The go-kart’s driver, Lewis, was pronounced dead at the scene. The go-kart’s passenger, Jackson, was flown to Huntsville Hospital where she died of her injuries at 12:53 a.m. Hood was not injured.
The crash occurred on Alabama 36 at the 10 mile marker, one mile west of Danville.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
