Wesley Buel Parker – Obituary

wesleyWesley Buel Parker, 78, of Decatur passed away Thursday April 21, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Main Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. today, April 23, 2016 at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church with Bishop Floyd Odom, Bishop Jay Rhodes and Bishop Carl Maynard officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
He was born Nov. 1, 1937 in Cullman County to William Wesley Parker and Vera Paschall Parker. He retired from Solutia and was a school bus driver for Decatur City Schools for 31 years. He loved Alabama football, gospel music, but most of all he loved his family. His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Holmes Parker; sons, Ricky Parker (Delaine), Joshua Parker (Allyson); daughter, Debra Holladay (Ricky); stepsons, Jim Barnette (Gina), Dr. Jonathan Barnette (Kathy); stepdaughters, Suzannah Barnette and Sally Kirkland (Jeff); brothers, Jack Wisner (Betty) and Joseph Parker (Betty); sisters, Martha Ann Sexton and Mary Ann McDowell; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Holmes, Al Shores, Philip Holmes, Dell Ellis, Garcia Toney and Billy Hamilton.
