Wayman Byron Berry, 89 of Franklin, Tennessee died on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at his home. Wayman was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on Truck Island. After his military service Wayman worked for Allstate Insurance as an agent in Huntsville, Alabama and enjoyed working on his farm in Ardmore, TN. After retiring Wayman moved to Nashville and spent his winters in the Rio Grande Valley, TX as well as Sun City, FL. In his retirement Wayman discovered his true passion, playing golf, which he continued playing until March of this year.
Born Sunday, February 27, 1927 in Arab, Alabama, he was the son of the late Homer Byron Berry and the late Fannie Lee Cleckler Berry.
Surviving are his wife: Kathryn Allen Berry of Franklin, TN, sons, Ronald (Judy) Berry of Hayden, AL and Jim (Pam) Berry of Hartselle, AL, daughter, Celia Froehlig of Franklin, TN, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Mt. Oak Cemetery located at Mt. Oak Road Arab, Alabama with Byron Berry officiating.
The family is also having a Memorial Service at Brentwood United Methodist Church of Brentwood, TN, Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. and a barbecue lunch to follow.
