Charles Wayne Gates, 69, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Ardmore, Alabama.
Born Thursday, February 27, 1947 in Ardmore, Tennessee he was the son of the late Charley R. Gates and the late Annie Mae Eckstein Gates. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Collins.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area and was of the Baptist faith. He loved rabbit hunting, gardening, and riding his four-legged “grandson”, Paxton around town to visit family and friends.
Surviving are wife Kandye Jones Gates of Ardmore, AL, daughters; Bethany Hope Gates (Sonya Biggerstaff) of East Limestone, AL, Anna Katherine “Katey” Gates of Athens, AL, brothers; Bobby Dean Gates of Linares, Mexico, Jesse N. “Tom” Gates of Ardmore, AL, sister; Shirley Janell Bryant of Ardmore, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM up until service time at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL.
