Mary Ernestine Vandiver, 76, went home to her Lord Friday, April 1, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Greg Willis and Thomas Thornton officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Ernestine worked 41 years for Rogers Department Store and was a long time member of First Southern Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals. She loved her friends in the Willows Club and loved her family with all her heart.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Abraham Vandiver; brother Ralph Wright; sisters, Lavonne Wright, Freida Dodson, Carolyn Meadows, and Jane Barnett.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Davis (Rod) and Tina Rosser (Daniel); son, Greg Vandiver; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Seth Vandiver, Andrew Vandiver, Justin Hayes, Chet Holt, Sam Barnett, Chris Dodson, Keith Wright, and Doug Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are the nephews of Abraham Vandiver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals.
