David Wayne Magers, 57, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home in the Centerville community. He was born August 26, 1958 to Lester and Frances Thompson Magers. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a Baptist. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He was a brick mason. He enjoyed flowers, music, his cats, playing the guitar and piano, looking for arrowheads, and reading and watching westerns.
Services will be at 3:00 p. m. Saturday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse and Bro. Ricky Lesley officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Magers of Mantachie; one daughter, Melissa Pounds (Luke) of Belmont; two sons, Matthew Magers (Samantha) and Daniel Magers; the mother of his children, Cindy Magers; one sister, Anita Stanford (Steve); one nephew, Shane Stanford, all of Mantachie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Wayne Magers; his grandparents, Audie and Carrie Brown Magers, and Gene and Lavelle Nichols Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Magers, Daniel Magers, Britt Curtiss, Mike Ratliff, Shane Stanford, Frank Shields, Grant Shields, Steve Weaver, and Dale Parham.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p. m. until service time Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
