KNOXVILLE– No fooling, April 1 is the unofficial start of the warm weather fun season and the Tennessee Valley offers many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, from camping, hiking and water skiing to whitewater rafting, birdwatching and mountain biking. And what better way to remember those special moments than with a great photo or short video.
The Tennessee Valley Authority is launching #TVAfun, a seven-month-long social media contest to encourage everyone to take advantage our region’s wonderful natural resources, and then share the fun by posting their favorite photos and short videos.
The contest begins Friday, April 1, and runs through the end of October. Cool prizes will be awarded for the best submitted photo or video that matches the monthly theme:
April – Fishing
May – Camping
June – Hiking
July – Lake Fun
August – Whitewater rafting and paddling
September – Birdwatching
October – Mountain Biking
Monthly winners will also be eligible to win the grand prize, a GoPro Camera kit, which will be awarded in November after the #TVAfun campaign ends.
Entering the contest is easy and free. Just take your great photo or video, tag it with #TVAfun and post it to your personal Twitter or Instagram account. Or, you can upload the photo directly to TVA’s Facebook page by selecting the contest tab.
