ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement in the arrest of one man Friday, March 25 on charges of Theft by Deception:
“Nash Price Moses Davidson was arrested Friday afternoon for theft by deception 2nd degree.
Davidson went to Persell Lumber on North Clinton Street and bought $1781.20 in lumber. He told the staff at Persell’s that he was working for a local construction contractor and told them to charge the lumber to the contractor’s account.
Persell’s employees contacted the contractor and ask about the order. The contractor didn’t order the lumber or authorize Davidson to charge anything to his account.
Davidson was arrested and transported to the police department. He was booked and transferred to the county jail.”
