Funeral service for Mr. Perry M. Spitzer, age 76, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richie Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Spitzer, who died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at his residence, was born November 24, 1939, in Birmingham, AL., to Perry Martin Spitzer, Sr. and Edith Reeves Spitzer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Millwee Spitzer, daughter Edith C. Spitzer, and Sister Sue Cribbs.
Mr. Spitzer graduated from the University of Alabama in 1963, he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Chi Honorary Business Fraternity and was in the National Guard for 10 years. Mr. Spitzer was the owner of Spitzer Supply and Wholesale Heating and Cooling. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Scarlett Guyse Spitzer, sons, Murray E. Millwee (Marcia), James M. Millwee (Nejebi), daughters, Kathryn Motlow Millwee and Grace Lea Uliberra . Eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
