Mildred Marks – Obituary

MildredMrs. Mildred Marks, 96, of Florence passed away on March 24, 2016 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She was employed for over thirty years at International Minerals and Chemicals in administration and billing. She was a life-long member of North Wood United Methodist Church, treasurer of her Sunday school class at North Wood United Methodist Church and she was a member of Eastern Star in Florence. She also loved to travel.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Scott Coats officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel C. Marks; son, W. Frank Marks; parents, Louie and Abbie Copeland Hargett; three brothers, Bruce, Charles and Louie Hargett and two sisters, Ada Ruth Marks and Julia Melton.

Survivors include her son, William L. Marks (Mary) of New Orleans, LA.; three grandchildren, Col. William L. Marks II (Laurie) of Red Stone Arsenal, Mary Emily Miles (Chad) of Mobile, Ala., and Leonard J. “Bo” Marks (Laura) of Pensacola, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Henry Armbrecht, William L. Marks III, Jacob J. Marks, Tripp Miles, William W. Miles, Anderson C. Miles, Anna E. Marks, Sarah R. Marks and Ava H. Marks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Holden and the staff in CCU 3rd floor west, E.C.M. Hospital for their help and kindness.

An extra special thank you goes to Sherry Hayes, her companion and friend.
