Suspected Rapist Wanted In Huntsville Captured In Mississippi

HUNTSVILLE-With the help of Starkville, Mississippi Police, the U.S. Marshals the Huntsville Police have a suspected rapist behind bars.

Omar Martinez Balvas, age 24 wanted for domestic violence rape was taken into custody by U.S. Marshalls from the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force along with the Starkville Police yesterday, March 16.

U.S. Marshals along with Starkville  Police took Balvas into custody yesterday.  Huntsville Police Officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force tracked Balvas to Starkville, Mississippi where he was apprehended.

Balvas is awaiting extradition back to Huntsville.
