Ronald Samuel Akers, age 81, Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away Monday, Mar. 7, 2016. He was born in Haleyville, Alabama, the son of the late Thomas L. Akers and Annie Smith Akers. He was a member of Grace Life of the Shoals Church, also was a retired Band Director, having directed the bands at Haleyville High School and Hatton High School.
Visitation is Thursday, Mar. 10, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville with service following at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with Matt Fowler and Tim Martin officiating. Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Akers, his wife Lisa, of Brentwood, Tennessee, Tim Akers, his wife Donna, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Randall Akers, his wife Gina, of Cullman, Alabama; ten granchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Sue West Akers.
