Sherry Ross Fleming, 67, of Abbeville, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to the late Haskell Jackson Ross Sr., and Frances Williams Ross.
Ms. Fleming attended Murray State University in Kentucky. She retired after 25 years of service with the South Carolina Department of Probation Pardon and Parole as the Agent in charge for Abbeville County. Ms. Fleming was also employed with Abbeville Tax Service and State Farm Insurance Company for many years.
She was a member of the Abbeville Presbyterian Church and of the Presbyterian Women and Circle III. Ms. Fleming was honored through the Abbeville Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow and always graciously volunteered her time helping with the Abbeville Spring Festival.
Surviving Ms. Fleming is her daughter, Lynette Fleming Lindell and her husband Stewart, of Abbeville; a brother, Haskell Jackson Ross Jr. and his wife Sandra, of Indianapolis, Indiana; longtime best friend, Tina Rosser, of Abbeville; and two special grandsons, Ross Anthony Cobb and Colton Lindell; several nephews and extended family.
A service to celebrate Sherry’s life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Abbeville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Greg Henley and Dr. Robert Todd officiating. Family and friends are invited to greet with the family following the service in the Telford Parlor. The family is at the home of Stewart and Lynette Lindell in Abbeville.
