Funeral service for John Havard Dobbins age 83 of Hartselle will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines officiating with burial in the Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery with full Military Honors and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time on Monday at the Church.
Mr. Dobbins, who was born on May 28, 1932 in Lawrence County to Chester Lee Dobbins and Anna Callahan Dobbins, died on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home. He was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ for 51 years and was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He loved to work, retiring from Burgreen Construction Company in Athens. He really enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with his hands and was a wonderful handyman. He was preceded in death by a son; Joel David Dobbins, two brothers; James A. Dobbins and Wintford Dobbins and two sisters; Norma Lee Dobbins Prater and Imogene Dobbins Shaddix.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years;
