Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Lynn Edwards Parks, age 82, will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Lynchburg Cemetery beside her husband of 63 years, Mr. Joe Lee Parks. Mrs. Parks, surrounded by her family and close friend, passed away peacefully Monday at Southern Manor.
Mrs. Parks, daughter of the late James McGee Edwards and Maggie Edwards Wolaver, was a native of Mulberry, Tennessee. Along with her husband, Mrs. Parks owned and operated Parks Jewelers in Fayetteville for 40 years and was a long time member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Parks was an artist and an early advocate and member of the Fayetteville Art Guild. In addition, she was an avid reader throughout her life and continually shared her favorite books with many friends and family members.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Jimmie Story Stacks and Mrs. Joanne Tate. Survivors include sons Mike Parks and wife Sherry of Fayetteville, and Steve Parks and wife Lydia of Petersburg. Nine grandchildren surviving include Lee Parks, Jonathan Parks and fiancé, Bre Clark, Ashley Williams and husband Casey, Sarah Kimbrough and husband Brenton, and Matthew Parks, of Fayetteville; Carey Truesdale and Steven West of Smyrna; and, Kimberly Porter and husband Nathan, Crystal Casey and husband Whit, and Nicholas Parks of Murfreesboro. Eight great grandchildren include Trenedy and Cora Parks, Barrett and McKinley Porter, Jaelynn and Alanna Williams, and Chason and Kaden Kimbrough. In addition, one sister, Mary Boone Morris of St. Cloud, Florida, and many loving nieces and nephews survive Mrs. Parks.

Visitation with the family will be 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.
