George E. “Eddie” Brown, Jr., 64, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1951, to George E. “Jack” Brown, Sr., and Nella Wease Summers Brown. He was a Baptist in belief. He was a truck driver for 20 years. He owned and operated Flowers Sunbean Distributorship in Tupelo for 25 years and the Lunch Bunch Restaurant in downtown Tupelo. He most recently was a business owner in Tupelo.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 27, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include his long-time companion, Barbara A. Candy, of Mantachie; three sisters, Kathy Evans of Mooreville, Debbie Word of Smithville, and Melissa Baswell of Mantachie; four nephews, Lance Evans (Brandy) of New Albany, Corey Evans of Mooreville, Zack Baswell of Mantachie, and Jon Derrick Word of Smithville; two nieces, Summer Allen (Scotty) of Mantachie and Stephanie Spears (Hope) of Smithville; three great-nephews, James Hayden Spears, Jackson Allen, and Landon Evans; and one great-niece, Katie Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Corey Evans, Scotty Allen, James Hayden Spears, Jon Derrick Word, Zack Baswell, Norman Knight, Rodney Chaney, and Jayland Kimble.
Honorary pallbearers will be Olen Nichols, Landon Evans, and Jackson Allen.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
