John Henry Patterson, age 84, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016.
Visitation will be today, 6-8 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
His funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial following in Shaw Cemetery. Mark Mayfield will officiate.
Mr. Patterson was a lifelong resident of Leighton, was a 60-year member of Welders, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 760, and a member of Ford City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Patterson; daughter, Debra Marie Myers; son, Gregory Patterson; his parents, Henry and Maggie Patterson; and siblings, Willomina Taylor and Hilda McGee, Mildred Terry, James Patterson, and Norene Burden.
He is survived by his sons, Johnny Steven Patterson (Donna), of Leighton, Christopher M. Patterson, also of Leighton, and Anthony Crosswhite (Brittany), of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; daughter, Libby Smith (Jeff), of Muscle Shoals; brother, Donald Patterson, of Barton; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Glen Patterson, Adam Patterson, Michael Holden, Thomas Johnson, James Crosswhite, and Dewayne Eddie.
Honorary pallbearers are Stuart Hennigan and Jimmy King.
