Mary E. Wilbourn, 84, of Decatur was called home to be with Jesus on Feb. 13, 2016.
Mary was born Dec. 29, 1931 in Marshall County to Will and Thelma Stewart. She graduated from Jackson County High School in 1950. Mary was a retired school bus driver for the Decatur City School System. She was a faithful member of Flint Church of Christ.
Mary will always be remembered for her love for family, her church, the beach and camping. The sweetest memory will be Mary and Harvey camping at Point Mallard campground surrounded by many of their children, grand- children and friends.
Mary is survived by sons, Terry Wilbourn (Jackie) of Jackson Gap, Alabama and Charles Wilbourn (Connie) of Danville; daughters, Deborah Gilliland (Jimmy) of Trinity and Rebekah James (Bill) of Moulton; sister, Martha Johnston of Flintstone, Georgia; grandsons, Jason Cartee (Ashley), Jeffrey Cartee (Danielle), Jacob Wilbourn and Andy Forbus (Rachel); granddaughters, Rachel Newman, Sydney Wilbourn, Erin Gillott and Candy Thurs (Tim); many beloved great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey B. Wilbourn Jr.; sons, William D. Wilbourn and Michael W. Wilbourn and her daughter, Thelma M. Wilbourn.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with a graveside service following at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Pressnell of Flint Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Terry Wilbourn, Charles Wilbourn, Jacob Wilbourn, Jason Cartee, Jeffrey Cartee and Tyler Cartee.
