You’re invited to the ‘Up From Slavery ‘ Trolley Tour

The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library and Florence/Lauderdale Tourism and Vistor Center have teamed up to help The Shoals celebrate.

Lee Freeman, Director of the Florence/ Lauderdale Public Library, will conduct the ‘Up From Slavery’ trolley tour on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The trolley will depart from Florence/Lauderdale Tourism and Visitor Center in McFarland Park at 11 a.m. Please arrive 10 to 20 minutes early. This will be an educational and entertaining tour that will include stops at historical African American churches, schools and local businesses.

General admission is $15 ; cost for Seniors and Students is $10; Small children who can sit in a lap ride free. Participants are encouraged to reserve a seat by calling 256-740-4141. All proceeds will go towards the Tennessee Valley Historical Society Scholarship Fund.
